Bill Belichick Reacts to Nick Caserio Departure From Patriots

New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick released a statement following the departure of former Patriots director of player personnel Nick Caserio. He released the statement on the day the Houston Texans introduced Caserio as the new general manager.

Caserio became part of the Patriots in 2001. He was first a personnel assistant with the team and became the director of player personnel in 2008. Caserio had so many roles with the Patriots, such as offensive coaching assistant, area scout, director of pro personnel and wide receivers coach.

Bill Belichick respects Nick Caserio

Belichick has nothing but respect for Caserio. He recognized Caserio as one of the hardest working people out there. Caserio supported the team in so many ways, and Belichick is more than grateful for the contribution.

“Nick Caserio is one of the hardest working, dependable and team-oriented people I have worked with and his ability to handle a wide array of responsibilities is unique,” Belichick said in a statement. “Nick’s contributions came on a daily basis and ultimately led to years of success and six championships, for which I am very appreciative. He did an excellent job for us and is extremely deserving of the opportunity to be a general manager.”

Caserio shares the same opinion. He acknowledged the Patriots head coach in his introductory news conference with the Texans.

“Bill, you have provided incredible guidance,” Houston’s general manager said. “For that, I’m eternally grateful and thankful.”

New England has to find a replacement for Caserio. Dave Ziegler is a top candidate to replace him. However, he has attracted the attention of the Denver Broncos. According to recent reports, Ziegler will interview for the team’s general manager vacancy during the weekend. The Patriots may lose another member of the family. The organization will go through a wave of changes in the offseason. many experts would agree that 2020 was a transitional year for the Patriots. Tom Brady was the first the go, and several key coaches and players left the team in the past year.
