Lakers’ LeBron James Has New Hilarious Nickname For Talen Horton-Tucker

Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James has a new nickname for Talen Horton-Tucker and fans would definitely agree on this one. The four-time NBA champion is impressed with Horton-Tucker’s talent and his nightly performance. According to LeBron, the young Laker is like a sponge. Horton-Tucker absorbs pretty much every lesson he gets on the basketball court.

LeBron praised his younger teammate. He even said that Horton-Tucker has a matured basketball mind. Let’s not forget that the guard is 20.

“Does it on both sides of the floor, and then he just listens. He’s a sponge,” LeBron said of Horton-Tucker. “And he can apply it right away … big-time game for a kid that’s still growing into his own, but he’s (beyond) his years.”

Guess what… Horton-Tucker agrees with the GOAT. Being a sponge on the basketball court is really important at this point of his career.

“I always said I just want to learn,” THT said. “I feel like being a sponge is the most important thing you have to do when you are learning, especially with the caliber of guys that we have. Just being a sponge is probably key to doing good things this year.”

LeBron found the right nickname for Talen Horton-Tucker

Lakers players pulled out a 120-102 win over the Houston Rockets on Sunday. Horton-Tucker finished the night with 17 points, five rebounds, three assists, and four steals in 21 minutes. The young Laker was 7-of-8 from the field, 2-of-3 from deep, and 1-of-1 from the free-throw line.

THT played in 10 of the 11 games and that’s much better than his performance in the 2019-20 NBA season. He played just six games and most of these were inside the Orlando bubble. The Lakers forward entered Sunday’s match averaging 7.1 points, 2.3 rebounds, and 1.7 assists.

LeBron noticed Horton-Tucker when he was still in high school.

“I saw him about three and half, four years ago. I was watching a high school basketball game and I happened to catch Simeon playing. And I told our agent at the time—it’s now Talen’s agent, Rich Paul—that he needs to take a look at this kid Talen Horton-Tucker that’s at Simeon. I think the kid is super talented. This was like four years ago.”
