Lakers Release X-ray Results on Kentavious Caldwell-Pope’s Ankle

The Los Angeles Lakers had their second game against the San Antonio Spurs and Kentavious Caldwell-Pope had to miss the rest of the game due to a sprained ankle. The Lakers guard suffered his injury in the third quarter of the game.

The medical staff checked KCP and now we have the results of his X-ray. Mike Trudell reported that the Lakers have provided an update on the veteran’s condition.

In his postgame session with the media, Kentavious Caldwell-Pope said, “Ankle is fine. X-rays was negative. Just a little sprain, and hopefully I can go in a couple days.”

It was a good game for the Lakers guard and his numbers went pretty well. This was yet another strong performance for the talented player. KCP hit 4-of-8 shots and 1-of-2 from 3-point range. He finished the night with 11 points and played 17 minutes on the basketball floor. Entering Friday’s game, KCP was shooting 52.9 percent from downtown.

KCP was out but th eLakers still found strength to finish the game with a win. It was a terrible game for the franchise, but players ended up celebrating a big win.

LA players shot 40.6 percent from the field in the ugly contest. Spurs players had even bigger struggles. They couldn’t defeat their opponents.

Anthony Davis led his team with 34 points, 11 rebounds and five assists. His fellow superstar LeBron James got another triple-dounle. It was a tense game, but LeBron and AD are pretty serious about winning this year’s title.

The Lakers are on their way to meet the Memphis Grizzlies on Sunday afternoon. KCP has a full day to rest and recover. Maybe Lakers head coach Frank Vogel will let him take the floor on Sunday. Maybe the veteran will get his well-deserved rest.

Los Angeles had a short offseason and it shows. The team signed a group of talented players, but they needed more time to adjust to the system. Hopefully, they will be able to overcome the obstacles and build stronger chemistry in the near future. In 2019-20, LA played really well, and players worked in perfect synergy.
