Lakers Vet Releases Bold Statement on Anthony Davis Defense

Los Angeles Lakers big man Anthony Davis had hard words for the defense and Jared Dudley had an expected reaction to this. Most NBA teams are focused on building strong offense, but the Lakers played hard on their defense and finished with 103.8 grade in defensive efficiency. This was the third-best in the league.

The Lakers have a good record at this point of the 2020-21 NBA season. They had some struggles at the beginning of the season. Davis warned the defense and it looks like players have found their tune. Last year, Davis lost the Defensive Player of the Year award to Milwaukee Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo. Guess what… He is making another run at the award.

Dudley went on Twitter to encourage everyone to check out Davis’ film from Tuesday’s win over the Houston Rockets. He was just trying to tell everyone that Davis has a huge impact on the defense.

Anthony Davis has a huge impact on the defense

It’s still early to make a prediction but things look really good for the Lakers. The team lost Dwight Howard, JaVale McGee, and Danny Green in the offseason. However, the front office brought Marc Gasol, Wesley Matthews, and Dennis Schroder. It may take some time for the team to build strong chemistry. Lakers head coach Frank Vogel is not too worried about the current situation in the team.

“We’re evolving as a team,” he said recently. “This is just part of the process, we had bumps in the road very similar to last night early in the season last year, and it’s something that we have to continue to work at each day. It’s not a big concern of mine.”

Davis has made a huge impact on the game. He is averaging 1.7 blocks per game and that’s the seventh-best in the league. Lakers players should not worry about the game at all. In 11 games played, AD is averaging 22.1 points per game. This is his lowest scoring average. Davis averaged 20.8 points per game in his second season in the league. He will probably boost these numbers.
