LeBron James, Anthony Davis and Frank Vogel’s One-Sentence Responses to Devastating Year of 2020

Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James is more than excited about the new year and he has great wishes for him and his family in 2020. LeBron, his teammate Anthony Davis and Lakers head coach Frank Vogel put an end to a long year, and many would agree that it was the worst year we have ever seen. But, LA won the title and it was one of the best years LeBron had in his career.

Everything looked normal back in January. But, Kobe Bryant’s death and the global pandemic turned our everyday life into a nightmare. Vogel and his superstars provided realistic observations on their 2020 year. It was “one of the worst years ever.” We couldn’t agree more.

“One of the worst years ever,” Vogel called it.

“A lot of people lost a lot,” James said.

“A year,” Davis added, “that caused so much pain and heartache to the world.”

COVID-19 took so many lives. Millions of people tested positive for the virus and the economy won’t recover in ten years.

“I think it’s something that I will be able to sit down and talk to my grandkids about and say that the year 2020 was one hell of a year,” LeBron said. “The good, the bad, the ugly and everything in between.”

LeBron learned so much in 2020

NBA players had to make a break. The NBA decided to suspend the regular season. Players returned to the floor in late July. It wasn’t a regular return. They finished their season inside a bubble. BLM protests marked the entire year.

“We learned a lot from this year,” he said. “At least I did, from always checking in with your family, love your family, any bickering or beefs or whatever that you have, just squash it or you never know what can happen.

“I think a lot of people kind of live by that, just loving their family more and loving the people around them and anything that can be fixed try to fix it, because so many people lost their lives to this virus.”

Lakers players finished their season with a title and they are going to do that again this year.

“From a professional standpoint, it’s probably been my best basketball year ever,” said Vogel, who won his first championship in his first season coaching the Lakers. “So, it’s a little bittersweet in that regard. So many people have lost loved ones. They’ve lost their way of life. It’s been very tragic from that standpoint. So it is a little bit bittersweet.”
