LaMelo likes the attention he received from LeBron and acknowledged the compliments.
LeBron James is impressed with LaMelo Ball’s performance
LeBron knows what it feels like to snatch a triple-double. He does that in almost every game. LeBron has 123 triple-doubles in his long NBA career. He already had one in the 2020-21 NBA season. It’s interesting to note that LeBron didn’t have his first triple-double until his sophomore season. He got his first one on January 19, 2005. That’s 20 days after his 20th birthday. The king of basketball did it in a six-point win over the Portland Trail Blazers.
When it comes to Ball, he is on a good way to build a strong career. He finished the night with 22 points, 11 rebounds, and 11 assists while shooting 9-of-13 from the field in his 31 minutes off the bench. It was quite a performance from the 19-year old. He was an assist away from getting his first triple-double in the game against his older brother, Lonzo, who is now playing with the New Orleans Pelicans.
Orlando Magic guard Markelle Fultz was the youngest rookie to get a triple-double in a game. He achieved the feat in his rookie campaign with the Philadelphia 76ers. Fultz is out of the season as he recovers from a torn ACL.
Ball has had an impressive performance and he attracted the attention of many current and former players. A 19-year-old scored a triple-double and that’s not something you underestimate. Let’s just say that Ball has every right to get the Rookie of the Year honors this season. We know that LeBron would agree on this one. He can recognize real talent, and LaMelo Ball is definitely a talented player. We can’t wait to see what happens next in his career.
