LeBron James Shares His Thoughts on Playing at Age of 46

Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James is playing his best basketball at 36, and he is not even thinking of retiring at this age. In Friday’s game against the New Orleans Pelicans, LeBron was playing against a 16 years younger player. Zion Williams arrived at the Staples Center to win the game, but LeBron had different plans. Los Angeles got the blowout win.

Young Williamson finished the game with 21 points, 12 rebounds, and four assists. LeBron stacked 21 points, eight rebounds, and 11 assists.

Will LeBron play at 46? Media members wanted to know more about this during his postgame press conference. 2031.

“Yeah but I wouldn’t tell you that. I continue to put myself in the best condition I can be in. I train my body, I train my mind every single day. Come into the arenas or the facility and I get in a lot of extra work, preparing my body, preparing my mind. Hopefully, I can continue to do what I am doing at 36 and see what happens. But I will tell you, I don’t think that I can go to 46. We can go from 26 to 36 but I don’t think I can go to 46. Also I don’t think my wife would like that, pretty much. She wouldn’t like that, either.”

LeBron was amazing in the third quarter. He followed a missed layup from Kuzma and flew through the lane, went over Pelicans forward Nicola Melli and did a put-back dunk. This gave the Lakers a 15-0 run in the quarter.

LeBron James copes well with his age

The four-time NBA champion is in his 18th season. He is averaging 14.1 points, 8.1 rebounds, and 7.7 assists all while shooting 38.2% from the 3-point lane. This is the best percentage since 2012-13. King James didn’t rest at all, and he is playing 31.8 minutes per game.

LeBron has no issue with his age. Last March, LeBron said that his teammates have more in common with Bronny and Bryce Maximus than with him.

“When they would come over to the house, they would actually be outside playing basketball with Bryce and Bronny,” he told reporters. “Or playing video games with them. At first I was like [surprised] and then I had to realize those guys are 17-, 18-years old and my sons are 15 and 13. So, yeah, it made all the sense in the world.”
