Report: Los Angeles Lakers Would ‘Love to Get Involved’ in Blockbuster Trade

The Washington Wizards don’t look too well at the moment. In fact, things look terrible for the franchise. Bradley Beal and Russell Westbrook may be leading the team, but they have the worst record in the league. Beal is leading the NBA with 35.4 points per game, so it’s not his fault. The Wizards are dealing with too many problems at the moment. This gives the Lakers a chance to take part in a blockbuster trade with the team.

However, Beal is loyal to the team. He is under contract in 2021 and has a potential opt-out after the season. Beal is doing his best to make things work for the Wizards. But, he may soon run out of patience. Great players don’t really like to lose games and the Wizards have lost too many games in the regular season.

From what we can see, the Lakers have shown interest in signing Beal. Experts first discussed their interest last year.

The Lakers may pull out a blockbuster trade

Adrian Wojnarowski from ESPN appeared on The Jump, saying that, “The Lakers and Clippers would love to get involved. But it comes down to having the draft picks. Beal will have a say of where he goes because of his contract situation.”

The Brooklyn Nets formed their superteam with the signing of James Harden. They have great season, but Nets coaches have to deal with so many holes at the moment. Brooklyn has a 14-6 record following the loss to the Detroit Pistons on Thursday.

This leads us all the way to Los Angeles. The Lakers have LeBron James and Anthony Davis on the roster at the moment. Forming a Big 3 seems like a good idea for the Lakers. AD and LeBron could easily use another superstar. Beal is the perfect fit for the team at the moment.

The Lakers front office can’t really make a good offer at the moment. They owe the Pelicans this year’s pick from the AD trade. They also owe a pick in 2024. New Orleans may decide to swap picks with LA in 2023. Los Angeles can’t trade a first-round selection until 2026 or 2027, and the Wizards will want their players this offseason.

Los Angeles can offer some of the players on the current roster. KCP, Dennis Schroder, Talen Horton-Tucker, and Alex Caruso may end up on the trade block.
