Report: Top Quarterback Prospect Meets With Patriots

A top quarterback prospect may get a chance to play with the New England Patriots. Head coach Bill Belichick and his assistants have to go after a quarterback in the 2021 NFL draft. Veteran quarterback Cam Newton joined the team in 2020, but he failed to meet the expectations. The 2015 NFL MVP didn’t have much success in replacing Tom Brady. Replacing the greatest of all time was a big bite to swallow.

The Patriots have started with one of the best prospects at the Senior Bowl. Mac Jones from Alabama is one of the top prospects of the upcoming draft. Jones hit the Senior Bowl hoping to boost his draft stock. He has been surrounded by some crazy narratives, and he is giving his best to change that. Many experts believe that the Patriots will get Jones with the No. 15 overall pick. Pretty much every mock draft supports this claim. Mel Kiper Jr. from ESPN is also convinced that Jones will sign with the Patriots.

Jones met with New England’s scouts after the Senior Bowl practice. Jim McBride from The Boston Globe confirmed the information revealing that both sides will take the conversation to a different level.

The great quarterback prospect to get a chance with the Patriots

The talented prospect did an amazing job at practice sessions. A lot of people liked Jones’ poise and passing accuracy. Patriots coaches respect this and they will sure keep their eyes on Jones for a long time. NFL scouts follow Jones’ success. Alabama quarterbacks stem from the school’s system and offer great performance on every position.

Jones tweaked his ankle on a play and he may not play in Saturday’s game. He may be risking his injury and Jones may try to avoid this. But, he really needs to play and give his best on the field.

Belichick respects great talents and he may be interested in seeing more from Jones. The Patriots have Jarrett Stidham on the roster, but he didn’t quite use the chance Belichick gave him in 2020. The legendary head coach is expected to make the best decision in the offseason. Getting a skilled quarterback is a must.
