Stephon Gilmore Speaks For All Patriots Fans With This Tweet During Bucs-Saints

The New England Patriots didn’t make the NFL postseason this year. It was pretty awful, and players had to finish their disappointing season with a 7-9 record. New England hasn’t missed the playoffs since 2008. Moreover, Patriots players miss the postseason for the second time since 2000. Yes, we can’t really cope with the idea that New England won’t be playing in the postseason this year. Veteran cornerback Stephon Gilmore talked about the current situation in New England, and Patriots fans would definitely agree with him.

Gilmore lamented the Patriots’ failure to earn a spot in the postseason. Former Patriots quarterback Tom Brady and his Tampa Bay Buccaneers were playing against the New Orleans Saints in the divisional round. How did Gilmore feel about this?

“Miss playoff football,” the veteran cornerback wrote on Twitter.

Stephon Gilmore fires up Patriots fans

New England broke a streak of 10 straight playoff appearances. From what we can see, the Patriots will try to return to their old shape in the upcoming season. Will Gilmore stay around to help his team win games in 2021?

Gilmore won the Defensive Player of the Year in 2019. He has one year left on his contract with the Patriots. This would give him a $7 million salary in 2021 which is below the market value for a player like him. In other words, Gilmore can easily end up playing with another team. He is the perfect trade candidate. Head coach Bill Belichick will take everything into consideration. Playing without Gilmore is a talented veteran and he had a key role with the team.

Wide receiver/kick returner Cordarrelle Patterson won a Super Bowl with the Patriots in 2018. He would definitely love to play with the Pro Bowl cover man. Patterson enters the open market in March.

Patriots players have nothing but support for TB12. The veteran quarterback is making his 10th Super Bowl appearance in his debut with the Buccaneers. Things look really well for the former Patriots quarterback.
