Watch: Jakobi Meyers Throws Touchdown Pass To Cam Newton

The New England Patriots are playing against the New York Jets in Week 17. This game is not really important for the team as the Patriots are already out of the playoffs. New England won’t play the big game, but players are ready to give their best and win this one. Veteran quarterback Cam Newton may have to part ways with the Patriots. His first and probably only season with the Patriots was bad and the team will have to find a good replacement. Maybe they have a quarterback in their lines. Imagine this… Jakobi Meyers throws a touchdown pass to Newton and the numbers go up.

That’s exactly what happened in Week 17. Newton is usually the one throwing touchdown passes to his teammates. But, this time players switched roles and Newton caught the pass from Meyers.

Jakobi Meyers throws a touchdown for the win

Patriots fans were surprised to see Meyers showing off his signal-caller skills. This touchdown pass happened in the third quarter of the final game of the regular season. The New York Jets arrived at Gillette Stadium, and Patriots players welcomed them with a nice effort.

After taking a shotgun handoff from Newton, Sony Michel sent the ball to Meyers who connected with the startingg quarterback for a 19-yard score. It was a trick-play touchdown for the Patriots.

Let’s not forget that this wasn’t Meyers’ first touchdown of the regular season. The 2019 undrafted free agent launched a 24-yard pass to Rex Burkhead in the Patriots’ Week 10 game against the Baltimore Ravens. It was a nice win for the Patriots, but it didn’t help the team make the playoffs.

Will you ignore the fact that Meyers has yet to catch a touchdown in his career. Maybe Belichick will have to give Meyers a chance to play under center.

Head coach Belichick is impressed with his players, and he likes Newton. But, he may have to part ways with the 2015 NFL MVP. It’s more than obvious that Newton is not the best fit for the Patriots. They really need a better option for the upcoming season.
