Watch: ‘Shaqtin’ a Fool’ Nominates Dennis Schroder For Flop of The Year vs Warriors

The Los Angeles Lakers lost the game against the Golden State Warriors. However, something else caught everyone’s attention. Dennis Schroder earned his “Shaqtin’ a Fool” nomination for the flop he pulled out in the third quarter of the game.

The newly-acquired Lakers player tried to draw an offensive foul against Warriors’ Andrew Wiggins. But, fans and experts took a closer look and noticed that Shroder may have flopped. That’s how he got the nomination.

TNT’s Shaquille O’Neal stands behind the blooper reel.

Let’s just say that Shroder’s flop was a rare spot in his great game Monday night. The German native led his team in scoring in three quarters of the night.

Los Angeles had an excellent lead at halftime. However, things went down the hill in the third quarter. Kyle Kuzma and Montrezl Harrell led the Lakers bench, helping the team rebuild a double-digit lead at the end of the third quarter of the game.

Dennis Schroder won’t repeat his flop

Schroder has seen some struggles with his shooting. But, his Monday performance was more than awesome. The veteran made eight of his first 14 field-goal attempts.

It came down to the final second as the Golden State forced LeBron’s team to call a timeout with 1.7 seconds left of the game and the final possession. King James had to get the ball at the top of the three-point arc. Draymond Green covered him, but LeBron got the ball, went to the right and hit the shot. His ball hit the iron and bounced off the board. The Warriors ended up winning the game.

Monday night’s game was set up with clutch second half defense. Wiggins started the whole thing with a steal on Marc Gasol. He hit his next two three-point attempts on back-to-back plays. The Warriors came close to LA cutting the deficit to nine. Kevon Looney cut the lead even further.

It was an unexpected loss for the Lakers, but it won’t distract them from the upcoming road games. LA players are entering an interesting stretch of their schedule. They can’t take it for granted.
