Anthony Davis Reportedly Dealing With Nagging Achilles Injury

The Los Angeles Lakers have good standing at this point of the regular season. LeBron James plays his best basketball, leading his team to the best record in the NBA. Anthony Davis is great too, but his nagging injury is giving fans a big headache. AD may be one of the best players in league history but he has been dealing with too many injuries. This time, it’s his Achilles.

The Lakers listed Davis as questionable for the game against the Oklahoma City Thunder. He is dealing with tendonosis of his right Achilles tendon. According to some sources, he will probably miss the game.

Dave McMenamin from ESPN reported that Davis has complained of discomfort in the past few weeks. He missed some time due to a bruised quad. His Achilles tendon looked great, but Davis noticed some tightness in his leg.

AD was a dominant player in the 2019-2020 NBA season, leading the Lakers to a win. This season it’s different. He is averaging 22.2 points, 8.6 boards, 3.2 assists, and 1.9 blocks in 33.6 minutes per game. He is shooting at 53.0% from the field, but his 3-point percentage went down to 31.5% AD is over 70% on free throws.

Anthony Davis to provide great stats despite his injury

The Lakers big man addressed the fact that he didn’t provide the same stats as in 2020.

“I don’t rely on offense for me to have a great season. I’m doing everything I can on the defensive end. … When you’re a two-way player, you don’t have to rely on one aspect of the game with just scoring. I can help my team win on the defensive end and make shots when I need to.”

The numbers may not be that high, but Davis is awesome on both ends of the ball. Los Angeles has a 18-6 record at this point of the regular season.

If Davis stays healthy, he will be able to give Lakers fans an even bigger show. It’s showtime, everyone! LA is winning this championship.

LeBron and AD are ready for the upcoming games, and maintaining great health is a priority right now.
