DeMarcus Cousins’ ‘Dope’ Reaction to Lakers Championship Ring Plan For Him

DeMarcus Cousins didn’t join the Los Angeles Lakers in their run for the championship ring. However, the franchise has very special plans for him. The veteran missed the entire last season due to an ACL injury. He sustained the injury before the campaign started. Guess what…

The Lakers will give Cousins a championship ring. Cousins was told about this gesture, and he was more than excited. He really appreciates this.

The 30-year0old says this recognition is a validation for the role he had with the team despite his absence from the floor.

Cousins is getting his Lakers championship ring

Cousins had a terrible season with the Golden State Warriors in 2018-19. He sustained too many injuries and then went to LA in the summer of 2019. Lakers players were more than excited to share the court with the veteran. Adding the four-time All-Star was a good plan. Los Angeles already had LeBron. Pairing him with Cousins looked just right. However, Cousins sustained his ACL injury in the preseason and the Lakers waived him in February 2020.

The veteran is not as dominant as he used to be early in his NBA career. His season with the Houston Rockets was great. He remained healthy and had a few great games for the franchise. Starting center Christian Wood sustained an injury, leaving Cousins with more minutes on the floor. He will definitely try to get the best of this opportunity.

Cousins will get his 2020 championship ring on Saturday when the Lakers host his Rockets teammates at the Staples Center.

When it comes to LA, players will go against the Oklahoma City Thunder. They are a win away from being the best team out there. LeBron James and Anthony Davis are doing an excellent job with the team. The Lakers have a good chance to win back-to-back titles, and we all know who is rooting for them. Lakers head coach Frank Vogel is leading his team in the right direction. Cousins missed the chance to win a championship with the Lakers, but he is getting his ring. That’s more than recognition.
