Lakers’ Markieff Morris Has Strong Words for Jazz

The Los Angeles Lakers lost four straight games, and NBA experts are sort of worried. LeBron James and his teammates do their best to defend the title, but there are some major obstacles on their way.  LA has dropped to the third seed in the West. Unfortunately, they may end up fourth if they keep losing games. Some experts couldn’t cope with the fact that LA lost to the Miami Heat and Washington Wizards. The Utah Jazz look really good right now, but Markieff Morris isn’t worried about them despite their strong roster.

“We see the Jazz, we know they beat our a** tonight,” he said. “But in the playoffs it’s a different story.”

The NBA playoffs tell a different story. LA plays without Anthony Davis and Dennis Schroder at the moment, and these two are expected to return way before the playoffs. We also know that LeBron plays different basketball in the playoffs.

Markieff Morris is ready for a strong playoff game

The Lakers entered the regular season with great record. They had a seven-game winning streak.

“[I] think early on we won with talent a lot and we got a lot of role players that know their roles. Now with those guys out – with AD out, in particular – we need guys to do different things,” Morris said. “This is new for all of us. But we need it. If you ask me, we need it. Because you never know with injuries. You never know in the playoffs. You never know. We need these challenging times to really find who we really are.”

AD didn’t play his best basketball but he is an elite player, and Lakers players like his style.

Morris’ team had 71 days off. It was the shortest offseason in team history. The effects of the shortened offseason are more than obvious.

“This is the most basketball that I’ve ever played in my life – this season and last season combined,” Morris said. “It’s an unbelievable amount of basketball that we all are playing. Mentally it gets draining. Especially when you lose.”
