LeBron James Has Strong Words For Kyle Kuzma as Relationship Changes

The Los Angeles Lakers are on a good way to repeat the title. Players are trying to build great chemistry. Four-time NBA champion LeBron James talked about Kyle Kuzma and revealed some details of their relationship.

Young Kuzma struggled to find his role in 2020. There were too many rumors about his potential departure from Los Angeles. Kuzma hit 20 points and 10 rebounds in Friday’s win over the Memphis Grizzlies, and LeBron shared his thoughts on his success.

“Kyle has figured it out,” he said on ESPN. “He’s figured out what he means to this team, he has figured out what his role is. He has starred in his role. His offensive rebounding right now, his attention to detail, his running the floor, he is knocking down shots at a high level. We’re going to be even more dynamic with Kuz being in the position that he is in now. He’s just playing some really, really good basketball.”

Kuzma is averaging 10.7 points per game which is a career low for him. However, he is an excellent 3-point shooter (36.2%) and a rebounder (6.0 per game). Kuzma has played in all 27 games and fits well in his current role.

LeBron has great words for Kuzma and their relationship

LeBron noticed Kuzma’s changes. According to him, Kuzma is “grown” and “mature.” He knows what he likes and also knows what he doesn’t like. Kuzma understands the concept and knows who he is.

The four-time NBA champion has been part of the NBA for 18 years. He has seen players win and lose. Kuzma saw some struggles and had to learn the difference between playing for his stats and playing for the Lakers.

“It all depends what you want in this sport, to be honest,” LeBron said. “You can have, a lot of young guys, even veterans at times, too, do you want to score a bunch of points but it really, sometimes, it doesn’t really matter, it doesn’t make a difference in winning and losing? Or do you want to be part of something special? You continue to get better, you continue to make an impact and you have a role on the team where you’re playing for something that’s more than the sum of your individuality and you’re trying to win a championship. And I know that is a fine line especially for young guys, especially if you’re a scorer.

“If the team wins, I think everyone gets taken care of. Everyone benefits. I think the most beneficial thing I can say for Kuz is he’s grown into himself.”
