Tedy Bruschi Suggests How Patriots Will Approach QB Issue

The New England Patriots will have to find a solution to their current issues. Head coach Bill Belichick finished the 2020 season with a 7-9 record and missed the playoffs for the first time since 2008. It was a disappointing season for the team, and we all know what happens when New England fails to win the Super Bowl. Belichick will be super aggressive in the 2021 NFL Draft and he won’t miss the post-draft period to harvest the best names on the market. The Patriots have several holes on the roster. They need a quarterback, tight ends, receivers, linebackers… NFL experts believe that Belichick will revamp the roster. According to recent reports, the Patriots can easily solve their QB issue.

The Patriots haven’t selected a quarterback in the first round of the NFL draft since the 1993 season. Will Belichick change the policy? Will he get his next signal-caller from the top prospects?

New England needs a quarterback and the situation is pretty serious. Several NFL teams need signal-callers, too, but the Patriots have too many issues to solve at the moment. Belichick owns the 15th overall pick in the 2021 draft. This year’s draft offers a nice group of quarterbacks and Belichick have several options to choose from.

Patriots have a few solutions for the QB issue

Former Patriots linebacker Tedy Bruschi shared his thoughts on this possibility. He believes New England should address their other needs in the upcoming draft. If you ask him, Belichick should sign a veteran quarterback to lead the team.

“Bill (Belichick), and a guy he has years of tape on, is a little bit more comfortable than trying to go the younger route through the draft,” Bruschi recently said on WEEI. “Build the team overall through the draft, and find a good veteran quarterback. That could be the way to go here.”

It’s a nice advice and there are several great veterans on the market. It’s a long list of options for the Patriots head coach and Belichick has enough cap space to get the best for his team.
