Andre Drummond Sends Message to Lakers with Viral Instagram Post

Andre Drummond is a man of few words, but his message to the Los Angeles Lakers went viral in seconds. Fans got a chance to see what Drummond looks like in a purple and gold uniform. The All-Star center is wearing the Lakers’ signature gold jersey and he looks great. Drummond reposted several messages about his signing with the team.

Drummond last played on February 12. Terry Pluto from cleveland.com reported that Drummond has been working out in LA as he awaited his trade or buyout move.

“But he knew his playing time (and stats) would be diminished with [Jarrett] Allen now the center of attention,” Pluto explained. “I heard Drummond has been working out in Los Angeles, wanting to go to the Lakers.”

The Boston Celtics and New York Knicks wanted Drummond, too. However, Marc Stein from New York Times reported that NY didn’t really make an effort to sign him. The Lakers were favorites to sign him.

Adrian Wojnarowski from ESPN reported that Drummond also spoke with the Clippers, Hornets, Knicks, and Celtics before inking  a deal with LA.

“The Lakers’ star players and front office have been recruiting the center hard, selling him on the opportunity to step into the defending champions’ starting lineup, sources said,” Wojnarowski explained. “The Lakers have had inconsistent center play with Marc Gasol and Montrezl Harrell this season, and Drummond’s ability to protect the paint and rebound would allow for him to have a significant impact.”

Brian Windhorst reported that LA was getting Drummond at any cost.

“The league believes, and I know that’s a vague statement, but I’m saying it that way to avoid trapping myself,” Windhorst explained on The Hoop Collective. “The league believes, numerous teams I’ve talked to believe that Andre Drummond is heading for the Lakers if slash when he gets bought out.

Drummond is averaging 17.5 points, 13.5 rebounds, 2.6 assists and 1.2 blocks in 25 starts for the Cavaliers.
