Bill Belichick Breaks Silence As Patriots Announce 10 Free-Agent Signings

The New England Patriots made some really great moves in the offseason. Head coach Bill Belichick was mum on the recent Patriots signings until today.

Belichick acknowledged 10 signings for the first time Friday afternoon. New England signed the following players:

WR Nelson Agholor
DL Henry Anderson
WR Kendrick Bourne
ST Cody Davis
TE Hunter Henry
LB Matt Judon
OL Ted Karras
DB Jalen Mills
LB Kyle Van Noy
DE Deatrich Wise

Some of these guys are considered top options. Belichick brought the best tight ends in New England. It’s more than obvious that his plans for 2021 are huge.

Bill Belichick is not done with the Patriots signings

The Patriots got offensive tackle Trent Brown through a trade. They sent offensive tackle to another team and re-signed defensive tackle Carl Davis.

Belichick addressed the signings in a statement, sharing his excitement about the new gameplan. According to the Patriots head coach, the new additions represent a good mix of offense, defense, and special teams. He was more than excited to see the stars in the building. He saw some familiar faces, too.  Kyle Van Noy is coming back.

“We are excited about the additions to our roster so far this year,” Belichick said in a statement. “Whether by trade, free agency or re-signings, the group brings a good mix of offense, defense and special teams. It was great to see them in the building, including some familiar faces, and we are all looking forward to continue building toward the upcoming season.”

The Patriots have yet to announce the signings of tight end Jonnu Smith, defensive tackles Davon Godchaux and Montravius Adams, kicker Nick Folk, center David Andrews, cornerback Justin Bethel, quarterback Cam Newton and linebacker Raekwon McMillan.

First, they traded for Brown and McMillan is the latest addition.

Belichick is not done. He may still bring a quarterback in New England. Getting a defensive tackle and running back is also an option. The Patriots hosted Pro Bowl cornerback Desmond Trufant for a visit Friday. Who is the next to come to New England? There are several great options for the Patriots at this point.
