Bill Belichick Personally Came to Watch Elite Edge Defenders’ Pro Day

The New England Patriots had representatives at the Pro Day. However, head coach Bill Belichick decided to show up right on time during the Pro Day and watched the Miami Hurricanes. He wouldn’t miss watching elite edge defenders,

Andrew Groover from NFL Network shared a  few photos of the Patriots head coach. Belichick knows how to make an appearance. Fans and experts follow every move he makes. From what we can see, Belichick is still in the game. He is not done yet. The Patriots head coach came to win and he will win with a great group of players. His offseason was crazy and yes, he was able to bring some great players to New England.

Is Belichick after a particular player? If yes, we could bet on edge defender Gregory Rousseau.

Bill Belichick came at the Pro Day for a reason

Rousseau measures at 6’7’’ and has enough power to be a strong force on the defensive line. Head coaches respect his 11’’ hands. Oh, and let’s not forget his 83.25’’ wingspan.

The 266-pounder is in excellent physical condition. Some may be worried about the 4.7 40-yard-dash time, but Belichick can work with that.

The talented player sat out the 2020 NFL season. In 2019, Rousseau was amazing. He was averaging 15.5 sacks, two forced fumbles, and 19.5 tackles for loss in 13 games. Belichick owns the No.15 pick in the first round of the 2021 NFL Draft. Many believe he will trade up for a quarterback.

There is another option. Belichick may boost his defense with the No.15 draft pick. This would force him to get a quarterback in the later rounds.

Rousseau is great, and we can easily say the same for Jaelan Phillips. He is slightly smaller than Rousseau, but his athleticism is amazing.

Phillips consistently ran a sub-4.6 40-yard dash time. He played in 2020 and had eight sacks, 15.5 tackles for a loss, and an interception. One thing stands for sure. Phillips isn’t as dominant as Rousseau was in 2019.

The Patriots signed Hunter Henry and Jonnu Smith in free agency. Belichick got the best tight ends in the league. If coach B likes Jordan or Pat Freiermuth, he will have to make them compete with Devin Asiasi and Dalton Keene. They struggled in 2020.
