Frank Vogel Gives Optimistic Update on Anthony Davis

Los Angeles Lakers head coach Frank Vogel provided an update on Anthony Davis and his current condition. The Lakers big man sustained a terrible injury and he had to miss a lot of time. Lakers players are optimists, and AD even took part in light drills on the basketball court.

Well, let’s just say that the Lakers want to give Davis enough time to recover.

“Before the Lakers took on the Golden State Warriors on Sunday night, Anthony Davis was out on the floor, going through some shooting drills in full view of the assembled media,” wrote Harrison Faigen of Silver Screen and Roll. “But while his Achilles and calf at least feeling well enough for a bit of practice work has to be a good sign, head coach Frank Vogel said Sunday night that it wasn’t a reason to assume Davis would return earlier than expected.”

Vogel has an optimistic update on Anthony Davis

The Lakers head coach said Davis was doing some light shooting, and they will stick to the four-week plan. But, Davis misses the game and he had to see some action.

“It’s just light shooting. We’re still on track for the four-week plan,” Vogel said.

Vogel is an optimist and he can’t wait to have Davis back on the court. According to him, the big man is doing really well. His progress is great. His teammates can’t wait to share the court with him.

Davis sustained his injury a couple of weeks ago. His MRI showed that he had suffered a calf strain and aggravation of his Achilles tendinosis.

The team struggled to readjust without the big man in the lineup. They had a four-game losing streak. Dennis Schroder had to miss time, too.

Schroder is back, and the Lakers have won back-to-back games. They will have to play without Davis for some extra time.

The Lakers are playing against the Phoenix Suns on Tuesday. It was a statement game for the team. They are playing against the Sacramento Kings on March 3.
