James White Reportedly Makes Free Agency Decision

The New England Patriots may be re-signing a big name. Veteran James White made a decision regarding his free agency.

According to recent sources, the Patriots will probably re-sign one of the best running backs on the open market. Things got really interesting. Head coach Bill Belichick added a bunch of great names. He brought Kyle Van Noy back. Dont’a Hightower is expected to return to the field. Belichick will be working with a lot of familiar names this season.

James White to join the Patriots in free agency

White knows where he wants to go next. Jeremy Fowler from ESPN reported that White wants to return to New England.

Fowler reported that White has yet to reach an agreement on his potential deal with the Patriots. However, this deal will happen “pretty soon.”

“Running back James White is expected to re-sign with the New England Patriots, per source,” Fowler said on Twitter. “It’s not done but should be pretty soon. The versatile RB with 25 touchdown catches since 2014 back in the fold for New England.”

Many thought the Tampa Bay Buccaneers were a preferred landing spot for the running back. Earlier this month, Adam Schefter from ESPN reported that the Buccaneers would love to pair Tom Brady and White. We have already seen these two work together.

In 2020, Buccaneers running backs struggled to catch the ball. Leonard Fournette and Ronald Jones had some bad drops before the playoffs.

Fournette is a free agent and has yet to find a home in the NFL. White is on his way to New England, so the Bucs may decide to bring the former No.4 overall pick back to Tampa for another year.

When it comes to Belichick’s team, the Patriots have one of the best offensive weapons and a true leader in the locker room.

Belichick made a few big moves in the offseason and he is expected to make a few more. Maybe he will bring another quarterback to the team. Maybe he will get another kicker. There are few great options for the brilliant coach. He has started cutting players and making space for his new signings.
