Jeanie Buss Reveals Why She Thinks LeBron James Could Lead Lakers for ‘Another 10 Years’

Los Angeles Lakers owner Jeanie Buss would love to have LeBron James on the roster for another 10 years. Well, he is the greatest of all time, remember? Her comments don’t really come as a big surprise at this point.

In her appearance on ESPN’s “First Take,” Buss sahd how she envisions the team thriving with LeBron at the help for another decade. For some of you, this may be a huge shock. We’d all agree that Buss made a good point.

“LeBron said something the other day about how he probably won’t play when he’s 46. So maybe somewhere between now and 46—so another 10 years? Whatever he wants to do.”

Jeanie Buss signed LeBron James to lead the team

King James joined the Los Angeles Lakers in the summer of 2018. He signed a four-year deal worth a lot of money. His first season with the Lakers wasn’t that great. The team missed the playoffs and LeBron sustained a groin injury on Christmas Day. He missed 17 games and his younger teammates lost too many games.

Everything changed in the summer of 2019. The Los Angeles Lakers signed Anthony Davis and he clicked with LeBron right away. LeBron wanted to play with Davis and they made the best duo in the NBA.

The Lakers won a lot of games in the 2019-20 season. The king of basketball and AD led the team despite the pandemic. The NBA suspended the season for four months, and players had to finish it in Orlando. They arrived inside the NBA bubble and finished their seeding games.

LeBron and his teammates defeated their opponents and ended up winning the title. The front office offered him a two-year contract extension. Davis signed his big deal, too. He will stay in LA for at least four years.

LeBron is the first player in NBA history to win a Finals MPV award with three separate organizations. He turned 36 in December, but his game is sharper than ever. LeBron is averaging 25.8 points, 8.0 rebounds, and 7.8 assists per game with the team.
