Lakers Welcome Back Rajon Rondo With Heartwarming Tribute Video

The Los Angeles Lakers welcome back Rajon Rondo. No, the veteran guard is not coming back for good. He just came back in town to meet his old friends for a game. The Lakers played against Rondo’s Atlanta Hawks and ended up losing the game. But, the Lakers welcomed Rondo back and honored him with a wonderful tribute video.

Rondo signed with the Hawks in the offseason. He was trying to give the team an experienced point guard behind Trae Young. However, before joining the Hawks, Rondo spent two great seasons with the Lakers. He was a key member of the Lakers bench and had great leading role on the floor. Lakers players respected his leadership and his experience. Rondo is a talented player and everyone liked him, including LeBron James. When it comes to the four-time NBA champion, he had to leave Saturday’s game due to something that looked like right ankle sprain. LeBron treated his left ankle sprain earlier in the season. This injury is the last thing he needed at the moment.

Let’s go back to Rondo. His numbers during the regular season weren’t really eye-popping with the Lakers. However, his playoff performance was wild. In the Lakers postseason run, the veteran was averaging 8.9 points, 4.3 rebounds, 6.6 assists, and 1.4 steals in 24.7 minutes per game.

In the NBA Finals against Jimmy Butler and the Miami Heat, Rondo took part in a couple of clutch moments to help the Lakers secure their first title since 2010. In Game 2 of the series, Rondo stacked 16 points, four rebounds, and 10 assists. He made three 3-pointers en route to a 10-point victory for his team.

In Game 6, Rondo scored 19 points, 4 rebounds, and four assists. He hit three triples that night.

Rondo was  a Laker for two seasons, but his presence was appreciated. The front office respected his role and everything he brought to the floor. Rondo tried really hard and LeBron praised his talent and great work. You don’t get to see a lot of players like Rondo.
