LeBron James Has Strong Words for Damian Lillard

Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James follows pretty much everything that’s going on in the NBA, and he sure follows Damian Lillard and his development.

The Portland Trail Blazers star has been overlooked throughout his entire career. He has great skills, but it may be easy to dismiss the big man. Well, it’s impossible to ignore Lillard these days. He is one of the best basketball players of all time.

On Tuesday, Lillard had one of the best performances of the regular season. His team was down 17 halfway in the fourth quarter against the New Orleans Pelicans. Lillard pushed his team to a 125-124 win. The 6-foot-2 veteran finished the game with 50 points. He made some cool comments about all the things he had to overcome in his career and his game.

LeBron James likes Damian Lillard

The Lakers superstar likes Lillard. He has always been a fan of the Blazers big guy. LeBron had an expected reaction to Lillard’s interview.

Lillard is definitely a MVP candidate. He is averaging 30.5 points per game which makes him the second-best in the NBA. The veteran helps the Blazers win games now that they play without CJ McCollum. Portland is the sixth speed in the West. If Lillard leads the team to the third or fourth seed before the regular season is over, he will definitely get his MVP consideration.

Even if Lillard retires today, he has done a lot to get his spot in the Hall of Fame. Well, there’s one big hole in his resume. Lillard has yet to win a championship. He has yet to make the NBA Finals.

It’s not his fault though. Lillard has always had great players around him. But, he has never played with elite teammates. McCollum is a great No.3 on a championship team. He is not strong enough to be the No.2 on a championship-winning team.

Portland isn’t a big market to attract elite free agents. If Lillard wants to win a championship, he will have to do more than this.
