LeBron James’ Snarky Comments After Picking Paul George on His All-Star Team

Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James decided to add Clippers star Paul George to his All-Star team.

Picking a rival is pretty challenging and LeBron decided to have fun during the All-Star weekend. What made him do this?
George is the 10th pick among all reserves, and he joined LeBron’s team.

“The only time I’ll root for this guy or this team, because we are enemies (laughs). Nah, just making fun of it. I’m going with Paul George, PG-13, from the Los Angeles Clippers.”

LeBron wanted Paul George on his team for a reason

When George signed with the Clippers last season, pretty much everyone thought that he’d meet LeBron and the Lakers in the Western Conference Finals.

However, the Clippers blew their 3-1 lead in the second round of the NBA playoffs. The Denver Nuggets won the series and met LeBron’s team.

LeBron and George have a long history. They met in two straight Eastern Conference Finals in 2013 and 2014. George was playing with the Indiana Pacers back then.

A few years ago, the Clippers veteran asked the Pacers to trade him. He wanted to join the Lakers. That’s what initial reports suggested.

The Southern California native joined the Oklahoma City Thunder. He became a free agent in 2018 and many thought he’d join the Lakers and play alongside LeBron. However, George decided to stay with the Thunder.

Will we get the chance to watch the long-awaited Lakers-Clippers postseason showdown. Seeing Paul go against LeBron is a big deal and we’d have tons of fun watching them compete against each other.

LeBron didn’t want to take part in the All-Star game. His team had a short offseason and players didn’t have much time to rest and prepare for the new season. Well, the NBA decided to move on with the plan and the All-Star weekend is already here. LeBron is ready to play the game and this is his 18th All-Star appearance.

LeBron and his teammates are trying to defend the title they won inside the Orlando bubble. They lost several games and Anthony Davis is still out. Hopefully, they will be able to win more games in 2021.
