Magic Johnson Addresses Potential Return To Role In NBA

Hall of Famer Magic Johnson was a big name in the league, and he may return to an NBA role in the near future. Fans would love that.

Johnson spent some time with the Los Angeles Lakers as their president of basketball operations. Johnson had a big say in LeBron James’ signing. However, some say he didn’t have a big role in LeBron’s final decision. One thing stands for sure. LeBron agreed to sign a four-year deal with the Lakers and he arrived in LA during Johnson’s time with the team. So yes, he sure had a role in the process.

The Lakers didn’t make the playoffs during Johnson’s time in the front office. The NBA legend stepped down in April 2019. His resignation shocked a lot of people. It was a bad split and Johnson even revealed some of the Lakers’ dirty laundry right after making his final decision. Well, things changed over time. Johnson is close to the team and he follows every move they make.

Los Angeles tried to get Anthony Davis, but their first attempt was a failure. They did get him in the summer of 2019.

Magic Johnson to return to the NBA, LA

Will Johnson return to the Lakers front office? Will he return to any NBA role in the near future?

In his interview with ESPN, Johnson said he would look into the best opportunity. He follows the game every night. His passion is still here.

“I think that if the right opportunity came about, I would definitely look to do it because I love the game,” he told ESPN’s Eric Woodyard. “I talk about it all the time on Twitter. Watch every game all the time every night, so I love it so much.

“It has to be the right situation. I would never say I wouldn’t come back, because I love the game that much.”

If Johnson ever returns, he will probably join the Lakers. He is really connected with the franchise. Johnson will wait for the right moment and the right opportunity. Lakers owner Jeanie Buss should consider bringing him back.
