Magic Johnson Reacts To Death Of NBA Legend Elgin Baylor

Hall of Famer Magic Johnson delivered an emotional statement following the death of NBA legend Elgin Baylor. The NBA world mourns over the death of the legend. Baylor died at 86.

Baylor was brilliant for the Lakers from 1958-71. In his awesome career, he was averaging 27.4 points and 13.5 rebounds per game. He changed the forward position completely.

Johnson had a hard time coping with the loss. It’s a terrible loss for every basketball fan out there. The former Lakers director of basketball operation delivered his message right after the Lakers confirmed Baylor’s death.

“RIP to the NBA’s first high flyer, Lakers Legend, & Hall of Famer Elgin Baylor,” Johnson wrote on Twitter. “Before there was Michael Jordan doing amazing things in the air, there was Elgin Baylor! A true class act and great man, I’ll always appreciate the advice he shared with me when I first came into the league.

“Cookie and I are praying for his wife Elaine, kids, and the entire Baylor family.”

Baylor was pretty active following his retirement. He became a head coach of the New Orleans Jazz. He was also an executive. Baylor served as the vice president of basketball operations for the Los Angeles Clippers for 22 years.

His death is a big loss for the Lakers team and the basketball community in general. Lakers owner Jeanie Buss delivered a message too. She thanked Baylor for all the great things he accomplished on and off the floor. He was a legend and people will remember him for his great career.
