Markieff Morris Has Harsh Words After Loss vs Suns

The Los Angeles Lakers lost the game against the Phoenix Suns. It was an unexpected loss for the team. Right before the game started, Lakers players found out they wouldn’t play with Marc Gasol. The Spaniard had to miss the game due to the NBA’s Health and Safety protocols. Kyle Kuzma was out due to a heel contusion. Anthony Davis was already out, and it was a terrible game for the team. Markieff Morris shared his thoughts on the loss vs Suns, and most players can relate.

Morris got the chance to start games. Lakers head coach Frank Vogel added him to the the starting lineup in Tuesday’s game against the sons.

“I don’t know man, you’ll go crazy trying to figure the refs out,” Morris said. “But they had nothing to do with us losing tonight.”

Morris didn’t blame referees, but he did criticize “someone.”

The Lakers struggled on offense, but their defense is brilliant. Vogel has created the perfect defense. Morris wasn’t really satisfied with his performance against the Suns.

“Offensively I made some shots,” Morris said. “Defensively I played like s***. My worst defensive game in a long time.”

Morris isn’t an elite defender, but he is great on that end of the ball.

“I had an undisciplined defensive game,” he said. “That’s not in my character. I was a little tired. I just made a bunch of mental mistakes. Think it kind of led to breaking our defense down.”

The Suns power forwards were pretty busy during the game. Jae Crowder finished the game with 15 points. Dario Saric hit 21 points. Morris didn’t do his homework. Vogel is all about strong defense.

The All-Star is almost here. LeBron James will probably miss his first game. The team has lost six of the last nine games. The NBA’s Health and Safety protocols did the job. Lakers players sustained a lot of injuries, too.
