NFL Writer Believes James White Will Leave Patriots For This Team

The New England Patriots may lose some of their veterans in the upcoming season. The team is expected to undergo some major changes. Head coach Bill Belichick will sign a few players in the 2021 NFL Draft. He will probably trade up to get the players he needs to win more games in 2021. However, Belichick will also lose several players from the current roster. According to recent sources, James White will leave the Patriots for one particular team.

The seven-year veteran has spent his career with the Patriots. He will enter the open market when the new NFL year kicks off March 17. The Patriots have to handle their roster issues at the moment. They have several holes on the roster, and there’s a really good chance for White to leave the organization.

James White to leave the Patriots

Mike Clay says White will become a valuable piece of an active offseason for the Jacksonville Jaguars. They have the No.1 overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft.

“…(Trevor) Lawrence is fully expected to be the No. 1 overall pick in April’s draft and will be on the QB1 radar as early as late 2021,” Clay wrote. “Jacksonville’s cap situation will allow them to out-spend most TE-needy teams for (Hunter) Henry. It’s a major need after Tyler Eifert was released and with Josh Oliver next on the depth chart after missing all of 2020 due to a foot injury.

“Florida native (Sammy) Watkins would fill out a solid WR trio, and White (also a Florida native!) is a much-needed passing-down complement to Robinson.”

Tight ends and pass-catching running backs will turn into security blankets of sorts for quarterbacks. The Jaguars will pursue players at both positions in the offseason given the expected signing of Lawrence. The team will do the impossible to get the Clemson product’s transition to the pro level easily.

Losing White would be a big blow for the Patriots. The team missed the playoffs for the first time in a decade. Hopefully, they will change the current formula and get the players they need.
