Patriots’ Cam Newton Silences Doubters With Strong Message

The New England Patriots spent a lot of money in free agency. It was a wild week for the team, and head coach Bill Belichick added the perfect amount of talent and depth on defense. He worked on the offense, too. The Patriots have added strong weapons in the past few days. The whole thing started with the re-signing of Cam Newton. The 2015 NFL MVP got a second chance and he will be able to prove doubters wrong. A great number of doubters still discuss Newton’s ability to lead the Patriots. 2020 was an awful season for the quarterback. Great Cam Newton delivered a strong message to his doubters. He is not taking a step back.

The veteran said he is “used to this feeling.” Yes, we have all noticed that Newton was doubted and criticized throughout the entire 2020 season. Well, the talented quarterback said he “embraces this feeling,” adding that he is “Retaliating, not at you, but because of you.”

It was more than obvious that things would go bad in 2020. The Patriots added Newton late in the offseason and he had limited time to learn the playbook. He got COVID and it affected his performance.

Cam Newton warned doubters

One thing stands for sure. The Patriots lacked weapons in 2020. The offensive line had several injuries, and the playcalling was really predictable. Other NFL teams could have predicted this. In other words, Newton didn’t get a chance to shine.

Things will change in 2021. Newton enters his second season with the Patriots. He will play with the same offense. He will work with the same offensive coordinator.

The NFL will be better prepared for the virus, and teams will enter a familiar field.

The O-line looks as if it is the best line in the league. New England had the worst tight ends and now they have the best. Jonnu Smith and Hunter Henry do wonders on the field. The Patriots also got Nelson Agholor, Kendrick Bourne to the group that already has Jakobi Meyers, Julian Edelman and N’Keal Harry. Things look really interesting at the moment.
