Report: LeBron James Is Recruiting 7x All-Star for Lakers

Four-time NBA champion LeBron James is using his time off to bring great stars to the Los Angeles Lakers. This time he is going after a seven-time All-Star. Can you make any guesses?

Stephen Curry has yet to ink his contract extension with the Golden State Warriors. LeBron pays close attention to his All-Star buddy.

Brian Windhorst from ESPN says that the kid from Akron was actually recruiting Curry during the All-Star weekend.

“I thought it was hilarious over All-Star Weekend, LeBron praising Steph up one side and down the other,” Windhorst explained on The Hoop Collective podcast. “How much he loves his game, how much he respects him. LeBron has obviously put the full-court press, not the full-court press. LeBron has obviously begun [the] recruiting of Steph just in the event that he wouldn’t extend and that somehow he would become a free agent and the Lakers would have a swing at him.”

LeBron James to boost the Lakers roster

Well, Windhorst didn’t really say that LeBron made a full recruiting pitch to the Warriors superstar. He has been following LeBron for quite some time.

Windhorst made his comments recently, and Marc Spears has something to say about it. Spears and Nick Fridell say that Curry will probably re-sign with the team. His deal runs through the 2021-22 season.

“But I just want to point out, LeBron thinks there’s some doubt,” Windhorst responded to the idea that Curry will re-sign with the Warriors. “Otherwise, he wouldn’t be doing this, because I know he feels a certain way about Steph because I watched it for four straight years. …LeBron started recruiting him at the All-Star break. …Just to be clear, Steph is eligible for a contract extension this summer, and LeBron started recruiting him at All-Star break.”

Curry and LeBron had a really great time together. They won the All-Star game and fans started talking about their potential pairing. Is that even possible? Well, we won’t make any comments now. LeBron may be building a super team right now. He can definitely do that.
