Reported Details Of New Deal Between David Andrews, Patriots

The New England Patriots are bringing back a familiar name. The team is working on a new deal for veteran center David Andrews. As you may be guessing, he is back with the team and is back on a bargain deal.

The longtime Patriots center decided to re-sign with the Patriots after briefly testing the open market. His short adventure didn’t end well, and going back to Foxboro was a much better option.

Andrews’ return happens amid a splash of transactions by head coach Bill Belichick. Most of these transactions are bargains and/or backloaded.

NFL experts approve of the new deal David Andrews got

Ben Volin from The Boston Globe has the details of Andrews’ four-year deal. Yes, it’s a bargain deal.

“Andrews has $6.5m guaranteed over two years, can make up to $8m if he plays in all 32 games, and can make $10m if he reaches incentives.”

NFL experts would agree that Andrews is one of the most sure-handed reliable centers in the league. He was really important for the team, and his absence was felt in 2019. He missed the entire season due to blood clots in his lungs. New England needed him on the field but he couldn’t return and help his team play. New England brought back Ted Karras mostly because they thought that Andrews would leave the team. However, the Georgia product will be the starting center for the team. Karras will serve as the backup and a swing tackle.

The Patriots are ready to enter the 2021 NFL season. They are strong on both sides of the ball. Their offense is strong and the defense is even stronger now. Belichick is satisfied with the current roster. He was pretty aggressive this week, and his hard work sure paid off. The Patriot made more moves than any other NFL team. They had several holes on the roster. These issues are now gone.

Jonnu Smith and Hunter Henry are the best additions for the Patriots. But, will probably add a few more players.
