Robert Kraft Gets Brutally Honest About Free Agency

The New England Patriots spent a lot of money last week. Team owner Robert Kraft shared his thoughts on the free agency moves his team made. We all know that Patriots head coach Bill Belichick is not someone who spends a lot of money in free agency. He shocked pretty much everyone, including his rivals.

One thing stands for sure. Belichick is more than excited to work with his new team. He got a bunch of talented players. Jonnu Smith, Hunter Henry… Cam Newton got another year with the team… The list of gameplan options for the Patriots is pretty long now.

Belichick used one simple word to explain his feelings. He is EXCITED.

“We are excited about the additions to our roster so far this year,” Belichick said in a statement. “Whether by trade, free agency or re-signings, the group brings a good mix of offense, defense and special teams. It was great to see them in the building, including some familiar faces, and we are all looking forward to continue building toward the upcoming season.”

Robert Kraft is equally excited about the Patriots’ free agency

Kraft was really honest about the recent moves Patriots made. Well, yes, he was brutally honest. Kraft admitted that the Patriots usually make fun of teams that make a big splash in free agency. They are the ones making big headlines these days.

“Look, we’re not going to know till the fall – we always used to make fun of the people who won the headlines in March – but here I believe we really improved our team,” Kraft told Albert Breer of Sports Illustrated.

The Patriots still have to take care of their quarterback position. But, they did a nice job with their roster and Belichick has plenty of time to make the right decision. It can be Cam Newton, Jarrett Stidham, or a draft selection. Justin Fields maybe. The Patriots like him a lot and Belichick will have to make some trade moves to get the top quarterback prospect. Let’s see how will the team handle the next few weeks. Who is the next on their list?
