Stephen A. Smith Proposes Blockbuster Cam Newton Trade

The New England Patriots are expected to make changes. Head coach Bill Belichick was seen talking to the San Francisco 49ers general manager. We all know what that means. The Patriots may be after Jimmy Garoppolo. Belichick has another situation to solve. Starting quarterbacks. Stephen A. Smith has an idea, and it involves Cam Newton and a trade deal. Garoppolo has been included in pretty much every trade deal.

San Francisco head coach Kyle Shanahan and general manager John Lynch won’t give up on Garoppolo that easily. But, fans like to talk and things got really hot.

San Francisco traded up for the No.3 pick in the 2021 NFL Draft. Garoppolo’s future with the team may be hanging in the air. This was more than enough for Smith to float another trade idea.

According to Smith, the 49ers should send Garoppolo to the Patriots for Newton.

Bill Belichick gave the San Francisco 49ers a gift,” Smith said. “They gave them Jimmy Garoppolo for a second-round pick. Hell, how about returning the favor…not only do you get Jimmy G back, but why don’t you give them Cam Newton?”

Cam Newton to end up on the trade block

Newton signed a one-year deal with the Patriots. Belichick decided to give him a second chance. This doesn’t mean that the veteran quarterback would go under center right away. He may compete with Jarrett Stidham for the starting position. Of course, Belichick can always bring a young quarterback to make things spicier.

The Patriots may decide to move on from the 2015 NFL MVP. If this is the case, the team will probably use Garoppolo or a rookie quarterback.

Is this the biggest trade of the year? Belichick is not playing games. He is all in when it comes to winning games. Garoppolo is a winner, but he struggles to stay healthy. He took the 49ers to the Super Bowl. Newton did the same. Who is leading the Patriots to the playoffs in 2021? The team missed the big game last season. Belichick won’t let this happen again.
