Bill Belichick Was Asked About 2021 Quarterback Class

New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick will probably select a quarterback in the 2021 NFL Draft. What does this mean? New England needs a quarterback. They did sign veteran quarterback Cam Newton to a one-year deal, but the team has yet to find the quarterback of the future. Newton won’t stick around for too long and Belichick will probably bring a fresh power to learn under the 2015 NFL MVP.

The Patriots may be in the market for a rookie quarterback when the draft kicks off on April 29.

Belichick watched Newton struggle to catch up with the offense. New England had problems moving the ball in 2020. They missed the playoffs this past season, but Belichick decided to trust him and give Newton a second chance.

Bill Belichick made big moves in 2021

This year’s draft is packed with talent. Justin Fields, Mac Jones… Media members asked head coach Belichick about this year’s class of signal-callers. His response was quite a shocker. According to Belichick, the 2021 class is “interesting.

“As always, there’s some interesting players,” Belichick told reporters on Thursday afternoon. “When you look at the players at that position, I think you see a lot of differences in the 2020 season. A lot of it is by conference, but there are some other circumstances as well. An interesting class.”

New England sent coaches and scouts to watch Ohio State Justin Fields on his second pro day. Fields was brilliant in his first day and he will probably find a home early in the first round.

Offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels, director of player personnel Dave Ziegler, and the team’s national scout Matt Groh attended the workout. Most mock drafts suggest that the Patriots will trade up on the draft board to get Fields.

The Patriots have the No.15 pick. If Belichick tries to get a top signal-caller, he will have to give up on some assets and trade some of his players. Several NFL teams have traded to change their overall picks.
