LeBron James Reacts To Andre Drummond’s Odd Nickname

Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James has yet to hit the floor with newly-signed player Andre Drummond, and he has so much to learn about the big man, including his nickname.

The two-time All-Star center is part of the Lakers now. He is having a great time with LeBron. The four-time NBA champion may be out of the game, but he follows every move his team makes. The franchise brought the big man to fill up the big void LeBron and Anthony Davis left behind. They also signed Ben McLemore.

LeBron is more than impressed with Drummond’s performance. But, we don’t really know if he likes his nickname. In a recent interview, Drummond said that LeBron asked him about one of his nicknames. Big Penguin. Imagine that!

“Bron came up to me one day and said ‘yo, is your nickname Big Penguin?’ I said ‘man I don’t know where that came from or how it started, or who came up with the name. All I know is that someone must have found out that penguins are one of my favorite animals, and kind of put and two together.”

LeBron James doesn’t mind Andre Drummond’s nickname

Does he like this nickname? Is he happy with it?

“I think I need a more aggressive nickname than Big Penguin. But the kids can call me that.”

A Twitter user says they cracked the big code. In 2013, Drummond shared a series of Vine videos. What’s so special about these videos? He is dressed as a penguin.

Lakers fans would love to see him act more like a Big and less like a Penguin on the floor. We understand that.

In his first eight seasons, Drummond was the ultimate rebounder in four occasions. He joined the All-Star Game twice. His team traded him to the Cleveland Cavaliers in 2020 and he didn’t really make an impact.

The Cavs waived Drummond in March and Rob Pelinka signed him right away. He is averaging 9.2 points, 9.2 rebounds, and 1.2 assists per game with the Lakers.
