NFL Analyst Identifies Patriots ‘Ideal’ First Two Draft Picks

The 2021 NFL Draft will have a strong group of quarterbacks and the New England Patriots will probably make a move. NFL experts have made several predictions about the Patriots and their draft picks. Head coach Bill Belichick has yet to make a move. He brought a lot of great players to New England but he is not done. We know it. Everyone in the NFL knows it. Belichick is rebuilding his offense and defense. He kept the quarterback though. Cam Newton signed a one-year deal with the Patriots.

One of the top quarterback prospects will probably end up with the Patriots.

NFL draft analyst Chad Reuter published his column Monday and shared the “ideal top two picks” for each and every NFL team. He based his projects on where each team is set to make the first two selections.

Patriots to make the best draft picks

When it comes to New England, they have the 15th overall and won’t make a pick until No.46. Reuters is convinced that Alabama wide receiver Jaylen Waddle and George cornerback Tyson Campbell would fit the picks.

Well, yes, Belichick lost a valuable veteran in Julian Edelman. The wideout decided to call it career after 12 decades. Edelman was plagued with injuries and had to retire. He made an official statement on his retirement.

“The Patriots have tried to improve their receiver group by signing Nelson Agholor and Kendrick Bourne as free agents,” Reuter wrote for NFL.com. “Waddle’s speed would take the crew to another level, though. His return ability would be a boon to the Patriots’ special teams, as well. Picking up a cornerback like Campbell in Round 2 would build depth for 2021 and provide a potential replacement for Stephon Gilmore, who is in the final year of his contract.”

Cornerback has gone overlooked as a pressing need for the Patriots. Stephon Gilmore’s future is uncertain and New England may get into a contract dispute with No.2 corner J.C. Jackson in the next few weeks. Outside these two, the Patriots only have Joejuan Williams, Michael Jackson Sr., and Jalen Mills on the cornerback depth chart.
