Patriots New TE Reportedly Survived Savage Attack From Ex Girlfriend

New England Patriots new TE Jonnu Smith got into trouble with his former girlfriend. Smith is a talented player but he had to deal with many problems in his personal life. The Patriots signed an athletic offensive weapon to make the playoffs in 2020. Head coach Bill Belichick got a survivor who went through a traumatic experience at 25.

While playing at Florida International in college, Smith was in a relationship with Mary Gaspar. In 2016, Smith suffered terrible burns as confirmed by David J. Neal of the Miami Herald. On Halloween, Smith suffered burns on his head, neck, back, shoulder, and one of his arms. Gaspar was five months pregnant with Smith’s baby. According to the arrest affidavit, Gaspar doused Smith with boiling water.

New Patriots TE was attacked by his girlfriend

The lady was charged with aggravated battery and she pleaded not guilty. Well, Gaspar told Florida International University police that she argued with her boyfriend that day. She complained of the lack of attention. The two of them were in Smith’s dorm room, and while feeling as Gaspar “extremely emotional and stressed,” she boiled water and poured it on her boyfriend.

Smith didn’t react sufficiently, so she started hitting him. It was horrible, but Smith missed just one game. He was limited for the final two games of his college career.

Nine months later, Smith joined the Tennessee Titans. The team selected him in the third round of the 2017 NFL Draft.

The charges against Gaspar were dropped in August. Believe it or not, she wasn’t prosecuted for the attack. We don’t know how their relationship ended, but Smith is rumored to be in a romantic relationship with India Love.

There’s no trace of Gaspar on social media. We can only find a few images related to the big scandal.

Smith and Gaspar’s son is now four. The tight end keeps sharing photos of his son and we had the opportunity to watch the kid grow in front of our eyes.
