Patriots Sending Major Personnel To Scout Justin Fields Today

The New England Patriots aren’t playing games. Head coach Bill Belichick packed the team with talent in free agency. He signed Jonnu Smith, Hunter Henry and other great names. The Patriots will probably take similar approach in the upcoming draft, and they have already sent their personnel to scout Justin Fields.

Fields is one of the biggest names in the NFL Draft. The San Francisco 49ers traded to get the No.3 overall pick but we don’t know much about their plans. Mac Jones from Alabama has been part of many theories in the past few weeks. New England has the No.15 overall, but they are definitely interested in the Ohio State quarterback.

Patriots scout Justin Fields for a reason

Fields’ last Pro Day went really well. His Pro Day went head to head with Mac Jones’ at Alabama. A lot of scouts watched the players. Pretty much every NFL expert believes that both Fields and Jones will go in the top 10 picks. Patriots head coach Belichick arrived in Tuscaloosa on time.

Fields will perform again, and the Patriots have their personnel on the spot. Belichick didn’t travel to Columbus, but Albert Breer reported that offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels will be there.

McDaniels will watch Fields with director of player personnel Dave Ziegler and the Patriots’ national scout Matt Groh in Columbus. Fields will be gone by No.15. However, players like Aaron Rodgers have taken big falls because of team need back in the days.

The Carolina Panthers were set to go after a quarterback prospect. They traded for Sam Darnold and this may give the Patriots a chance to get Fields or someone like him.

New England re-signed Cam Newton to a one-year deal. He will get an incentive-based salary and Belichick is free to get another name. He will have to find the quarterback of the future. Maybe he will get someone and put him behind Newton for the season.

Fields was amazing in his pro day. He ran a 4.43 40-yard dash and had an amazing throwing exhibition.
