Peter King Weighs In Whether Patriots Will Trade Up To No. 4 In Draft

Peter King spoke his mind on the New England Patriots and their potential trade in the upcoming draft. The 2021 NFL Draft will be really hot this year.

The Jacksonville Jaguars said they plan to get Trevor Lawrence at No.1. Zach Wilson is looking for a home in the New York-New Jersey area. The San Francisco 49ers traded for the third overall pick. Their selection will be solidified by the end of this month.

This leads us all the way to the Atlanta Falcons. They have the No.4 pick and may trade their selection. New England really needs a quarterback at this point. They seem like a good trade partner for Atlanta. Well, Peter Schrager believes that the Patriots will snatch the fourth overall pick in order to select Justin Fields.

Peter King makes prediction on Patriots trade

Peter King has a different story to tell. He doesn’t believe that the Patriots would wheel and deal with Atlanta. Moreover, he believes that Atlanta won’t move the pick at all.

“They would love a trade that enriches them. I doubt they’ll find one,” King wrote in his latest Football Morning in America column. “But for two future first-round picks, they’d be compelled to take the long view. I don’t see that happening. Love Peter Schrager, and he had the Patriots trading up from 15 to four to take a quarterback in his Friday mock; I can see the Patriots trading up to pick a passer, but I can’t see them denuding two drafts to do so. But that’s what makes this fun. Schrager will be Nostradraftus if it happens. Also don’t see the Bears, in desperationville, doing it.”

So, who is the next on the list? The Cincinnati Bengals stand at No.5 and they don’t need a quarterback. The team will probably try to surround Joe Burrow with great players. It may be an offensive lineman or pass-catcher. What about the Miami Dolphins? They have the No.6 pick and won’t really help out a division rival. New England has good rapport with the Detroit Lions. Detroit will probably try to get the quarterback of the future with their No.7 pick.

The Dallas Cowboys have the No.10 overall pick and the New York Giants stand at No.11.
