Seven-Round 2021 NFL Mock Draft Projects Patriots Pick Quarterback In Round 2

The New England Patriots have 10 picks in the 2021 NFL Draft. According to a recent 2021 mock draft, the Patriots will get a quarterback later in the 2021 draft.

Head coach Bill Belichick may not really get his quarterback in the first round. Some analysts believe that the Patriots would go after a top prospect. Justin Fields, Mac Jones… They also believe that Belichick may trade up to get one of the players. Dane Brugler from The Athletic says the Patriots will get their quarterback in Round 2.

A predictable 2021 draft has the Patriots getting a quarterback at No.15

Brugler created a full seven-round mock draft. He projected five quarterbacks will go in the top nine picks: Trevor Lawrence (No. 1 to the Jacksonville Jaguars), Zach Wilson (No. 2 to the New York Jets), Mac Jones (No. 3 to the San Francisco 49ers), Trey Lance (No. 4 to the Atlanta Falcons) and Justin Fields (No. 9 to the Denver Broncos).

The analysts also suggests that the Patriots will get Tulsa linebacker Zaven Collins with the No.15 pick.

“With his athletic versatility at 6-foot-5 and 260 pounds, Collins is a very Patriots-like prospect and a great match in New England’s scheme,” Brugler wrote. “His value as a cover man, blitzer and run-and-chase pursuit player has Bill Belichick written all over it.”

The next quarterback may be Davis Mills of Stanford.

“If the Patriots are unable to trade up for a quarterback in the first round, Mills would be an interesting Plan B on Day 2 of the draft,” Brugler wrote. “Despite a small sample size and a history of knee issues, Mills has NFL starting talent.”
