There’s Reportedly No Truth To Patriots Draft Rumor

The New England Patriots have shown interest in several prospects and they may get a big name ahead of the 2021 NFL Draft. Well, head coach Bill Belichick knows how to make the right move at the right time. The Patriots offered Cam Newton a one-year deal but he is not the only quarterback option for the team. New England may try to get one of the best quarterback prospects in the 2021 class. However, these reports may a “smokescreen.” According to at least one source, the Patriots won’t agree to one draft rumor.

Former NFL executive Michael Lombardi says the Patriots may not go after Ohio State quarterback Justin Fields. We heard all the rumors about the Patriots and their next move.

The Patriots won’t go after draft prospect, shut down rumor

In the most recent episode of “The GM Shuffle with Michael Lombardi and Adnan Virk,” Lombardi explained that the Patriots’ interest in the draft prospect may be blown out of proportion.

“These things are out of control,” Lombardi said. “It’s one of the great, great smokescreens I’ve ever seen of all time. … There’s no fact to it.”

We don’t know much about Fields’ first home in the NFL. Trevor Lawrence and Zach Wilson will probably be the first two picks of the NFL Draft. The 49ers have the No.3 pick and they have to choose between Mac Jones and Trey Lance.

Fields put an end to his Ohio State career with 5,373 passing yards, 63 touchdowns, and nine interceptions. It would be more than great to see Fields join the Patriots. Well, Belichick may take the organization into another direction.

Maybe the team will trade for San Francisco 49ers quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo. Will Belichick agree to sign his former signal-caller? He has already traded the veteran.

We will have to wait and see what happens next in New England. There are too many rumors and smokescreens at the moment.

Belichick has made several bold moves in free agency. NFL experts predict similar approach for the upcoming draft.
