Watch: Jeanie Buss Reveals Her 5 Most Important Lakers of All Time

Los Angeles Lakers owner Jeanie Buss talked about all the Lakers legends and revealed her all time legends. In an episode of the “All the Smoke” podcast, the Lakers owner was asked who the five most important Lakers of all time are.

So, Buss listed Kobe Bryant, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, LeBron James, and Magic Johnson.

“You have to start with Kareem and Kobe and LeBron,” Buss said while conversing with hosts Matt Barnes and Stephen Jackson. “Magic. Yes of course, Magic. Magic might be No. 1.”

Buss had to do a good thinking about her fifth choice. Barnes aided her with the suggestion of Phil Jackson.

“Does he count as a Laker?” Buss asked Barnes. “Then, Phil.”

Jeanie Buss adds LeBron James to her Lakers all time legends

The Lakers have many players who represented the team with honor, excellence and awesome pride.

Buss would gladly add a few other legends. Shaquille O’Neal is a three-time NBA champion and he sure deserves a spot on the list. 1969 NBA Finals MVP Jerry West should get his spot. We should also see 11-time All-Star Elgin Baylor on Buss’ list. But, she had to pick five players and she made her choice.

LeBron has every right to earn a spot on Buss’ list. The Los Angeles Lakers did their best to get him. Magic Johnson tried really hard to sign the king of basketball. LeBron left the Cleveland Cavaliers to sign with the Lakers. He joined the team at the right time. His first season with the Lakers didn’t end well, but he won a title in his second seasn.

LeBron has the shortest Lakers tenure of any player on Buss’ list. He signed with the Lakers in the summer of 2018. It was a big move for the purple and gold.

In his first year as a Laker, LeBron got injured and had to miss 17 games. But, he had plenty of time to recover and returned stronger than ever.

The Lakers are getting ready for the deep postseason. They have a roster packed with talent. LeBron and Anthony Davis suffered injuries but they are ready for some serious action.
