Anthony Davis Status After Groin Injury vs Knicks

Anthony Davis was brilliant in the game vs New York Knicks. He helped the Los Angeles Lakers win the game. LA needs him to finish the season with better record. Well, players will have to go against the Houston Rockets without the big man.

LeBron James ruled himself out as he is resting his right ankle. Dave McMenamin from ESPN reported that AD would miss the home finale for the regular season.

“Anthony Davis will also not play tonight against the Rockets after experiencing tightness in his groin last night, sources tell ESPN”

The Lakers listed LeBron and Davis as questionable on the initial injury report. AD’s ailment was cited as left adductor tightness.

Several reports pointed towards the Houston game as a target date for LeBron’s return. However, the four-time NBA champion decided to rest his ankle and get ready for the final games and the postseason.

Los Angeles celebrated a nice win over the Knicks on Tuesday night. Young Talen Horton-Tucker pushed his team to the top with his clutch shot. His 3-pointer saved the day and THT became a hero. He was the star of the night.

Late in the overtime win over NY, Davis reaggravated his injury. The big man admitted he was beaten up after “banging with Julius Randle” for 43 minutes.

“I’m hurting,” Davis said. “Not more so my body, my groin got tight. That was really it. Not sure what it came from. But the groin got a little tight. There’s no way I was coming out the game. Big game for us…the situation that we’re in trying to battle for sixth…I didn’t wanna come out, no matter the injury. Finished the game and make sure we secured the win.”

LA has two days off before finishing the 2020-21 season. They are going against the Indiana Pacers and New Orleans Pelicans on the weekend. Things got really hot for the Lakers and everyone has to elevate their game to finish the season with a better record and, of course, avoid the play-in tournament.
