Here’s Who Patriots Will Face In Week 1 As Schedule Release Begins

New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick is definitely getting ready for his Week 1 opponents. Wonder why? The Patriots got their regular season schedule. Who is the first player to confront the Patriots?

Patriots players will meet the Miami Dolphins in Week 1. What a game, right? Belichick is entering the new season with the ultimate opponent.

The rivals will play on Sunday, Sept. 12, and fans will be able to watch the game on CBS.

Let’s not forget that the Patriots and Miami squared off in Week 1 in 2020. New England ended up winning the game and celebrated the 21-11 win at Gillette Stadium. However, they did lose the rematch in Week 15. New England lost 22-12 and finished the regular season with a 7-9 record.

Massachusetts will open all sports venues in the state to full capacity on Aug. 1. In other words, fans will be able to attend the game. It’s a 100% capacity after all. The country struggled in the middle of the pandemic and NFL fans didn’t attend games in 2020. Most teams banned fans from attendance.

Patriots veteran is winning Week 1

Week 1 is really important for all Patriots players, especially Kyle Van Noy. The Dolphins released him just one year into his four-year contract worth $51 million.

“I think it?s a good rivalry,” Van Noy said after rejoining the Patriots in March. “Everybody knows everybody. People have played on both sides, so it?s going to be good. It’s exciting.”

Center/guard Ted Karras returned to the Patriots after one year in Miami. Free-agent pickups Davon Godchaux and Raekwon McMillan are Dolphins alums, too. Here’s another detail. Jason McCourty returns to New England, but this time as an opposing player.
