Lakers Vet, Damian Lillard Have Eye-Opening Back & Forth Online

Most NBA teams weren’t allowed to have fans in attendance. We are in the middle of a pandemic and fans weren’t really able to watch their favorite teams play. As you may know, 29 of all 30 teams had a limited number of fans in attendance. The Los Angeles Lakers were definitely on this list. The Portland Trail Blazers didn’t allow any fans in arenas. Lakers players and Damian Lillard have something in common.

The team said they will finally allow fans starting May 7. The NBA has to deal with many other issues at the moment. Prior to the big news broke, star guard Damian Lillard said his team couldn’t play in front of fans. This isn’t the case at the moment. Lakers veteran Jared Dudley took notice of this and he shared an interesting point.

The Trail Blazers and Lakers can allow fans but they can’t have many as the Utah Jazz and other teams. Dudley said that this may cause unfair advantages for some teams.

The Lakers veteran shares the same opinion with Damian Lillard

Lillard agrees with Dudley’s comments.

“Def not right! When we played Utah they had like 8/9 thousand in the arena.. I bet they get 12/14k for playoffs.. Can’t have that wide of range.. I know NBA hands are tied but there’s def a competitive advantage esp since Portland has NO FANS.”

The Lakers were the top seed in the West. They played in empty arenas inside the bubble. The team ended up winning a championship. This year is different and fans play another role. This season, homecourt advantage will be in play as some teams have fans in arenas.

Kyle Kuzma said his team doesn’t need a homecourt advantage to win games.

“I think seeding matters for a lot of other teams in the league; I don’t think it matters much for us,” Kuzma said, via Silver Screen & Roll. “Obviously we’re declining (in the standings) and we’ve got to just figure it out … We’ve only got 12 games left and we’ve just got to keep pushing and keep figuring it out. Get AD’s legs under him and get wins.”
