LeBron James Puts NBA on Notice with Strong Message Ahead of Playoffs

The Los Angeles Lakers are winning games and the king is back into the game. Things look much better now and LA is getting ready for one final shot. Four-time NBA champion LeBron James delivered a strong message on the playoffs for the rest of the NBA and we’d take it as a warning.

The Lakers finished their regular season differently. They entered the year as the strongest team in the NBA. LA was definitely a favorite to win another title. Unfortunately, Anthony Davis suffered an injury and had to miss a lot of games. As if this wasn’t enough, LeBron suffered an injury too.

Injuries are thing of the past now. The franchise raised the 2020 NBA banner and LeBron took to his Instagram account to reflect on a great night.

“They say better late than never right?!?!” LeBron wrote on Instagram. “What a wonderful night this evening was seeing the 17th Championship Banner revealed in Staples along with our #LakerNation ??faithful! Now it’s almost time to defend it once again in hopes of seeing #18 raised as well! LETS GET IT!! ?”

LeBron is an optimist, but Basketball Reference gives the Lakers a 2.2% chance of making the NBA Finals and .7% odds of wining back-to-back titles. FiveThirtyEight gave LA a 15% chance to make the finals and 9% odds to win the championship.

Following his May 15th return from injury, LeBron fired another message. He shared a video of his dunk against the Indiana Pacers and added #washed.

According to LeBron, the upcoming postseason is “the road to back-to-back.”

“We said we would not unveil this banner until we had some of you guys in the seats, so this is your guys’ moment,” James noted, per ESPN’s Dave McMenamin. “Had our ring night; we wanted you guys there, but we wanted to make sure we saved the banner for y’all. So, we love you guys, and the road to back-to-back starts in about a week. So, let’s get going.”

Lakers head coach is an optimist and he likes the way LeBron handles the pressure.

“I think we’re all hopeful,” he said prior to LeBron’s returnper Lakers Nation. “We can watch him in the 1-on-0 workout and see him moving well and we can be encouraged by that and we’re all eager to see him out there, but you have to be realistic that this is a high-ankle sprain and things don’t go away quickly. I don’t know what percent he’s going to be at, but it’s a challenge to recover from this type of injury going into important games like we’re going to go into.”
