LeBron James Sounds Off on Injury to Anthony Davis

The Los Angeles Lakers are dealing with big trouble now. Fans have questions about the injury Anthony Davis sustained in Game 4 of the series against the Phoenix Suns. Are you worried?

The Lakers don’t know when AD will return to the lineup. This means more workload for LeBron James. The four-time NBA champion works on the challenge. More load? Why not?!

The Lakers listed Davis as day-to-day after suffering his injury. LA doesn’t have an official diagnosis at the moment. Davis will have to go through further medical testing.

LeBron is doing an excellent job at the moment. He is averaging 20.7 points, 9.3 assists, and 5.7 rebounds.

Lakers players share their thoughts on the injury Anthony Davis deals with

If Davis doesn’t return in the near future, LeBron will see a higher workload.

“These shoulders were built for a reason,” he said. “So, if it takes

for me to put some more on top of it, then so be it. Win, lose or draw, I’m ready for the challenge.”

The King has been in a similar position before.

“The best teacher in life is experience,” LeBron said. “Me, personally, I look forward to the challenge. However the hand is dealt, I’ll be ready to play.”

Lakers head coach Frank Vogel has watched LeBron play without a superstar buddy by his side. Vogel’s teams were on the opposite sides of LeBron. The king of basketball would normally get a bigger role and that’s never good for his opponents.

“When I competed against the Miami Heat, and either [Dwyane] Wade or [Chris] Bosh was out, that meant more touches for Bron,” Vogel said. “And that wasn’t always a good thing for my Pacers teams.”

Lakers players have some concerns at the moment, but they are pretty happy with the current roster. They have won games without AD. Marc Gasol discussed Davis’ injury and its impact on the team.

“Obviously you miss a guy like AD, you center a lot of the offense around him, but I’m sorry, to me that’s not enough,” Gasol told reporters after the loss, per Silver Screen & Roll. “To me we have to have a ‘next man up mentality.’ I know that sounds cliche, but that’s the truth. We’ve still got to execute whatever we’re doing on the floor defensively, offensively, take more control of the game, dominate physically, communicate. All the little things that go by, possession by possession, that you need to do to win playoff games.”
