Mac Jones Shares Image Likening Himself to Tom Brady

Did head coach Bill Belichick select Mac Jones to replace Tom Brady? The veteran quarterback left the Patriots last year and signed a one-year deal with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He signed a two-year deal with the Bucs and helped them win a Super Bowl. Even Rob Gronkowski came out of his retirement to play with Brady. They both led the team to the big game and won it.

Let’s go back to Jones. A lot of people have compared him to Brady. Jones sort of looks like the future Hall-of-Famer. Young players wouldn’t really dare to compare themselves to the GOAT. What about Jones? He is actually embracing the comparison.

Will Mac Jones succeed Tom Brady

In January, Jones shared an image of himself next to Brady’s NFL Combine picture.

We can see the joke in this one. The rookie quarterback knew well what he was doing. He was all over social media.

Right after the Patriots selected him, Jones posted himself playing Madden 21 as the Patriots taking on TB12 and the Bucs.

Some people weren’t really excited about the comparison. One user wrote the following:

“Dont be there a single day and think you can throw comparisons. Brady had a nut to Crack, you were drafted 15th overall. I wish you the best… but you have several superbowls to win before I want to hear any comparisons”

Head coach Belichick got Jones with the 15th overall. Jones said he wanted to be a Patriot this whole time.

“At the end of the day, you want to just get the right fit, and I feel like secretly, I really wanted to go to the Patriots all along,” Jones said during his post-draft press conference. “So I’m actually really happy that it happened.

“But it doesn’t really matter. You get picked, you’ve got to take the opportunity and take advantage of it and learn the new system, learn the new coaches, learn the new culture.”

The Patriots have Cam Newton and Jarrett Stidham on the position. Jones will have so much to learn from the 2015 NFL MVP.
